PREFACE

Dear Readers,

The Need for "Who's Who" in the paper industry is being felt for some time by all those involved in the pulp and paper industry in India. With the growth of the paper industry, the number of personal involved in the industry has also been increasing over the years. But a publication has not been made to highlight the achievements made by the individuals in different area of paper industry for the benefit of all concerned. Fortunately, India has a large reservoir of technical people and paper industry is no exception to this phenomena. We have a number of people who have contributed substantially to the developments in the process and paper making fields. It is with this end in view, the IAPMA - Publications Division das decided to bring out "WHO'S WHO" - for the first time - to meet the long felt need of the industry. 

Being the first it may have certain omissions and commissions but I am sure the readers would send their suggestions and amendments to make the information as accurate as possible in the subsequent editions of the publication.

For easy reference, efforts have been made to categories the entries according to the discipline viz. Chief Executive, planning and developments, chemical recovery, pulping, paper making etc. There are 14 such categories/fields in the publication.

I am sure this publication will meet the requirement of all those involved in the pulp and paper industry in India and abroad and would help in highlighting the achievements made by the Scientists, Engineers, Entrepreneurs and other skilled personnel involved in the industry.
