PREFACE
Paper plays an important role in the growth of the nation’s economy. With the increased pace of Industrialization and higher thrust on the education, the paper demand in the country has an impressive growth. Unlike the Western countries, the Indian Paper Mills are smaller in capacity, large in numbers and use various kinds of available fibrous raw materials to produce different kinds of paper products. Similarly, the axillary and ancillary industries, such as, Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers, Chemical Producers and Suppliers of other materials and services required for the paper industry have also grown both in number and capacity. The Industry and Government have been finding difficulties in assessing the capacity and number of these units and the kind of paper products made in the country till the realistic assessment made by IARPMA and the same published in the Inpaper Directory.
The 4
th edition of the Inpaper Directory of Indian Paper Manufacturers and Allied Industry published in the year 2001 with the improved system of references and indexes made easy access to the desired information. It has been able to bridge the gap what existed a few years back and therefore, the Inpaper Directory was well received both in India and abroad.Encouraged with the ever-increasing demand of the informative Inpaper Directory, IARPMA has brought out the updated and revised volume of the directory as 5th edition. I hope the latest edition of the directory will serve better the Paper Producers, Paper Users, Policy Makers and Manufacturers & Suppliers of the materials and services related to Pulp and Paper Industry. The Directory will also provide a good linkage to the Paper and Allied Industries in efficient supply-chain management and thus to create competitive advantages in the Globalized market.
I would like to thank all the Paper Mills, Suppliers, Consultants, R & D Organizations and Educational Institutes for providing the information to make this directory more authentic. I would also like to complement the efforts put in by IARPMA team for collection, compilation and publication of this directory.
